Our History
The Alberta College of Acupuncture & Traditional Chinese Medicine (ACATCM) was founded in 1997 by Dr. Benny Xu, a respected leader in the acupuncture and TCM community.
Since its inception, ACATCM has been committed to providing exceptional education and training in acupuncture and TCM. Our unwavering dedication to excellence has resulted in a proven track record of success in education, research, and clinical practice. Our graduates consistently attain a 100% pass rate on the pan-Canadian exams, which speaks to the remarkable quality of education and our commitment to student success.
In 2022, ACATCM moved into a state-of-the-art 38,000 square foot campus in Calgary, which has been thoughtfully redesigned specifically for the education of acupuncture and TCM students. The facility, which consists of education, research, practice, and clinical training facilities, is the largest of its kind in Canada.
